Women in Trades Workshop Series

Workshop 3: Overcoming Perfectionism

The Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM™) is pleased to present the Women in Trades Workshop Series, delivered as part of our Women in Projects Network initiative.

When you’re one of the few women in a team or on a site, it can sometimes feel like you’re carrying the reputation of all women with you.

That pressure can lead to setting impossibly high standards for yourself, second-guessing your decisions and feeling that you need to get everything right—all the time.

Perfectionism can become a barrier to taking opportunities, backing yourself and moving in the direction you want to go.

In this practical and empowering session, Louise Azzopardi will explore how to recognise and dismantle perfectionist thinking, let go of unrealistic expectations and give yourself permission to learn, grow and take the next step without the fear of letting others down.

Participants Will Learn:

  • Why perfectionism can be particularly challenging for women working in male-dominated environments
  • How the pressure to “prove yourself” can influence your decisions and confidence
  • Practical strategies to recognise and challenge perfectionist thinking
  • How to set more realistic expectations without compromising high standards
  • Ways to back yourself and pursue the opportunities and direction you want with greater freedom
