Applying Enterprise Architecture to Strengthen Project Delivery

In a world of accelerating digital transformation and increasingly complex systems, the ability to “think like an enterprise architect” is no longer confined to specialist roles; it is a mindset that strengthens how projects are conceived, governed, and delivered. For project professionals, this perspective supports successful outcomes while ensuring alignment to strategy and the realisation of organisational benefits.

About the Presentation

The Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM™) invites you to join this in-person session exploring how an enterprise architecture perspective equips project leaders to navigate complexity, manage interdependencies, and align initiatives to enterprise priorities. Robbie Baiuo from St John WA will demonstrate how enterprise architecture provides the strategic and structural context for defining, prioritising, and delivering projects with greater clarity and confidence.

The session will unpack core enterprise architectural principles—including systems thinking, trade-off analysis, capability mapping, and governance—and show how these strengthen project planning, sequencing, and delivery assurance. Through practical examples, it will illustrate how project professionals can better frame complex problems, manage cross-program dependencies, and maintain alignment with organisational strategy.

Attendees will gain a practical framework for applying enterprise architecture thinking to strengthen business cases, improve risk management, and better integrate project outcomes into the broader enterprise—reinforcing projects as the primary vehicle for delivering strategic change.
