Using AI in Project Management

AI mania is sweeping the globe. Since Nov 2022 - when ChatGPT was made public - everyone and anyone is talking about AI; how they have integrated into their products; how they are experts; and most importantly how the world of work will change.

However, if you talk to anyone who has been in the AI industry since before November 2022 - a very different story emerges - where GenAI (Generative AI) is not the only AI tool in town and possibly isn't the only one you should be using.

The goal of tonight's meet up is to help cut through some of the marketing and noise of where AI is today and how it can be applied to the world of project management.

Event takeaways

1. Starting with a plain English explanation of ML as a math/engineering tool, then we will have a group discussion on AI and explore some of the emerging myths and noises we are all hearing. We will look at different types of AI to help provide some insight into how they might be used.
2. We will start a discussion between and project management expert and an AI expert and start to explore how various tools might be applied to various problems
3. We will move into a broader discussion with the audience about AI and project management and things we as professionals should be using; aware of; as well as key concerns

Using AI in Project Management

Using AI in Project Management
Generative AI (or GenAI) is only one type of AI.  However interestingly – our analysis suggests it is one with the least commercial benefits on big programs.  So, the purpose of this meet up is to explore the different types of AI and then apply them to our roles as project, program and portfolio managers.
