Two sides of the same coin: how change managers and project managers are partnering on transformative programs of work for sustainable outcomes.

A jointly hosted AIPM and CMI event showcasing two significant digital transformation projects and programs of work where the partnership and collaboration between the project and change manager is critical to successfully embedding sustainable outcomes. Attending this event will provide you with the opportunity to understand how the guest presenters approach working in partnership and how they are fostering the culture within their respective organisations to advocate and demonstrate the significant value of doing so.

This event is likely to appeal to all project managers and change managers who wish to explore the benefits of working in partnership with each other, or who are already advocating for the dual benefits of setting up Project Change Management Offices (PCMO's).

Manager Director, Phase 2 Consulting and Principal Advisor (Digital Health), Health ICT – Department of Health

MAIPM

Melanie has a history of successfully delivering a wide range of large, high profile, and strategic projects in various complex business environments. Her specialty is Government projects and program delivery (particularly Health and Emergency Management) and Project Management Office functions. Her 25+ years of experience includes:

• Program Manager leading delivery of clinical specialty information systems across Queensland
• Program Manager of the HR Management Information Solutions Program for Education Queensland
• Principal Project Advisor to the HR Information Solutions Program for Fire, Ambulance and Emergency Services in Queensland
• A lead role for the opening of the Sunshine Coast University Hospital
• Manager of the Enterprise Project Management Office "Enabling Project Excellence"
• Director, Program Management Office for Tasmania Health including leading the delivery all COVID-19 related solutions.

Melanie now working as the Digital Health Principal Advisor to Tasmania Health's Digital Health Transformation Program. Melanie is passionate about maturing the project management profession and is a member of both AIPM and PMI (Tasmania and Queensland chapters).

Sam Brodribb

Managing Director, Tasmanian IT & Program Manager – Digital Health Transformation Program, Health ICT – Department of Health

Sam is the Managing Director of local consulting firm Tasmanian IT. Sam has over 15 years’ experience working in the Digital Health industry with a keen interest for health services being augmented and empowered by technology innovations. Sam’s experience includes:

• Currently supporting Department of Health delivering the recently funded $476 million, 10-year Tasmanian Digital Health Transformation Program
• Project Manager of the Medtasker Project recognised as
• TasICT Project of the Year 2021
• AIPM Tasmania Government Project of the Year 2021
• AIPM Tasmania (overall) Project of the Year 2021
• Delivery of multiple projects across Tasmanian Government Departments Health, Ambulance Tasmania, Police and Fire.
• Former Tasmanian Chair the Health Informatics Society of Australia (HISA)

Kim Griggs

Project Manager, NRE Tas

Kim has been a project manager at NRE Tas for the past fifteen years and has been responsible for the successful delivery of a range of technology projects, mostly in the water and marine resources space. Commercial fishing and seafood processing are highly regulated and complex environments which support the sustainable management of Tasmania’s valuable marine species, and related stakeholder interests are wide and varied.

Over the course of his career with NRE Tas, Kim has experienced the good and the bad when it comes to delivering and implementing technology outputs and has come to recognise the critical role effective change management plays in translating project deliverables into business as usual processes, and ensuring desired outcomes are met and new ways of working become embedded in the organisational and industrial culture. Kim has been a key player in the rapid emergence of change management within NRE Tas, becoming a CMRP in 2019 and recruiting the Department’s first practising CM position in 2022.

Serena Ellery

Change Manager , NRE Tas

Serena is an accredited Change Manager at NRE Tas. She has an extensive background in People and Culture in the Tasmanian State Service as well as the non-government sector in Victoria. Serena’s passion for working with organisational leaders to build positive workplace cultures with highly engaged employees has led her to various roles in the Tasmanian State Service such as Manager of Diversity and Inclusion and Manager Organisational Development and Culture. Since September 2022, Serena has been working with Marine Resources on organisational change issues, with a large focus on supporting the Fisheries Digital Transition Project.

Serena’s goal is to make change less scary by equipping leaders and their teams with tools to harness the opportunities of change and ensure all stakeholders to the change process have a voice and are heard.
