In this engaging session, Shamsa Lea, an intersectional gender equity leader and senior Air Force veteran, will explore the unique challenges and opportunities for women in project management. With a career spanning high-stakes environments in Afghanistan, Papua New Guinea, and the Middle East, as well as executive leadership roles in consulting and the not-for-profit sector, Shamsa will share personal stories that highlight the power of authentic leadership. You will discover how to leverage your personal leadership style to accelerate your career and gain strategies for leading teams as an emerging or mid-career leader.  You will leave empowered to embrace your individuality, claim your space, and make meaningful contributions to projects and organisations.

Shamsa Lea

 

Shamsa Lea is an intersectional gender equity leader and a senior Air Force veteran of Afghanistan, Papua New Guinea and the Middle East Region. She has held executive program management roles across Defence, private and for-purpose sectors including National Lead - Gender Equity Advisory at Deloitte, and is currently Director, Innovation and Strategy at Anglicare WA. She was previously a sessional academic for the Masters of Project Management program at the University of Southern Queensland. Shamsa is also the co-founder of Propel Her Australia- The Defence Women’s Leadership Series, the most read career development resource for Defence Women.
