Protecting Compliance, Building Performance & Safety

Non-conforming building materials present a growing risk to Australian construction projects, with potentially serious consequences for compliance, building performance, project delivery and occupant safety.

The Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM™) invites you to join this informative webinar presented by Insulation Australasia about the important role project managers can play in identifying and preventing non-conforming or substituted products from being installed.

About the Presentation

During this session, Insulation Australasia and Jeremy Watson—an experienced insulation industry leader—will share industry insights and real-world examples highlighting the risks of relying solely on supplier claims, technical literature and test reports. The presentation will explore how project teams can more effectively verify product compliance, identify unexplained product substitutions or discrepancies between specified and installed materials, and recognise warning signs before installation.

The session will also examine the potential consequences of non-conforming insulation, including reduced thermal performance, increased energy consumption, HVAC underperformance, condensation and mould, fire and safety concerns, costly rectification, project delays and increased professional and commercial risk.

At the conclusion of the session, participants will be better equipped to:

  • recognise key warning signs associated with non-conforming or substituted building materials
  • understand what constitutes credible evidence of product compliance
  • identify risks associated with relying solely on supplier documentation and test reports
  • understand the value of independent third-party product verification
  • strengthen project-level checks to confirm installed products match the approved specification
  • understand the potential building performance, safety, financial and project delivery consequences of non-conforming insulation.

Registration is complimentary for AIPM™ members.
