Building the Future with Data Intelligence and Robotics
The Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM™) cordially invites you to an insightful event organised by the WA Chapter Committee of AIPM™.
This event, presented by Dr Jun Wang, Director of the Digital Engineering Lab at Western Sydney University, will explore how advanced data intelligence and robotic systems are transforming the construction and infrastructure sectors toward a more productive, sustainable, and intelligent future.
Dr Wang will introduce a series of cutting-edge research initiatives focused on converting fragmented engineering and project data into structured, actionable intelligence to support improved decision-making across the full asset lifecycle. These include MetaBIM for AI-enabled 3D BIM data conditioning and semantic enrichment, EasyCarbon for intelligent invoice and carbon data processing, and InfraX for large-scale point cloud and infrastructure sensing data analysis. Collectively, these platforms demonstrate how emerging AI technologies can bridge disconnected datasets and enable smarter digital engineering workflows.
The event will also showcase several industry-driven robotics projects highlighting the growing convergence of AI, digital twins, and autonomous systems within the built environment. These include collaborations with Main Roads Western Australia on drone- and underwater-robot-enabled bridge inspection; with BGC on robotic arm systems for automated fabrication of precast concrete panels with brick inlays; and with Alex Fraser on robotic solutions for high-speed construction waste sorting on conveyor systems.
Together, these initiatives demonstrate how the integration of data intelligence and robotics is reshaping the future of construction and infrastructure delivery through enhanced productivity, safety, automation, and sustainability.
Registration is complimentary for AIPM™ members.
